Laser engraved records

For this record, I made a pool using two layers of cut white acrylic. I then filled the pool with water and placed the needle just on the surface of the water creating a wake behind it.

The resulting sound is barely audible.

This record was made by adhering a picture of my studio window onto the rear surface of an acrylic disc and dropping a drop of acrylic medium wherever there was a drop of rain collected in the image.
The resulting sound is a rhythm created by the needle hittting and bouncing off the raised surface of the hardened droplet.

This is a record made using a laser engraver to engrave lines in the surface of an acrylic disc.
The process begins with an initial drawing made manually in Adobe Illustrator.
In this case, the drawing was made based on an image of the sun which is printed digitally and adhered to the back side of the disc.
The density of the lines increases in the center of the disc producing a fuller sound.
